This page provides the forms to place wedding and engagement announcements in The Advocate. To use the forms, click on a hyperlink above and fill in the information on the form. To submit the form online, save the file to your computer and go to http://nuptials.theadvocate.com/ to upload the file and your photo (in jpeg format). You may also fill out the form in the lobby of The Advocate at 7290 Bluebonnet Blvd.
Engagements and weddings appear only in the Sunday People Section of The Advocate. Engagement announcements run before the ceremony and wedding announcements run after the ceremony. However, any engagements that run the weekend before the wedding are done so with the understanding that they cannot be rerun in case of error. Monday at noon is the DEADLINE for announcements to run the following Sunday. There is a $50 charge for each wedding or engagement announcement. Payment must be received within 24 hours of the deadline. Payment can be made with a credit card by calling (225) 388-0738 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Payment with cash or check can be made in the lobby of The Advocate at 7290 Bluebonnet Blvd.
Newspaper announcements will be posted online beginning June 15, 2008.
Photos that are dropped off or mailed in will be kept on file for three months after publication. After that, they will be discarded automatically. The Advocate is not responsible for any photos that are lost.
